CES, acronym for Consumer Electronics Show, is the world's gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, which kicks every year off and showcasing technological developments and innovation from over 4,500 exhibitors and is the Daddy of all tech shows. CES takes place in Las Vegas during the first two weeks of January. Held in Las Vegas every year, it has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for more than 40 years - the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace. Zendure will also showcase some of its newest innovations during CES 2019 with an immersive exhibition at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The exhibition will take place from 8th-10th January, 10:00am to 8:30pm.

Review

This massive conference covers all aspects of consumer electronics. At CES 2018, 170,000+ attendees saw 3,900 exhibitors covering over 2.75 million square feet of exhibit space that included the latest in 5G, Smart Cities, VR, AR, AI, and drones.

Tips for Arriving Time

Get to CES a day early so you can catch the kick off on the 7th (one day before CES starts). Like previous years, there should be a significant presence of new XR technologies.

Interested in exploring the latest in extended reality (XR), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), or mixed reality (MR) tech? Looking for a big opportunity to network with your fellow developers and creators? Look no further; We’ve compiled an extensive list of 2019 conferences that you can attend to explore, learn, or hone your immersive experience skills. We’ll continue to update this guide quarterly as new conferences are announced and dates are finalized.

Alternate realities (i.e., XR, VR, AR, and MR) are a huge trend right now; there are more conferences, symposiums, workshops than we have time to list. So we concentrated on conferences in the United States and Canada, though there are several large and specialized events that occur in Asia and Europe that we couldn’t ignore. Unlike some hot past technologies, XR touches both consumers and enterprises, so we’ve included some general conferences such as multimedia, interactive media, gaming and 360 video.

CES 2019 will run from 8th - 11th Jan, with two 'media days' running up to this. It sets the tone for the following twelve months with companies keen to show off their latest innovations or to test the waters with 'blue-sky' proofs of concept. It gives the media a glimpse of what the public can look forward to and allows some technological muscle flexing to let competitors and partners know how the latest developments are progressing.

Today we will take a glimpse on the TV tech and innovations on smart-phones only.

2018 we saw Samsung's 146-inch modular MicroLED Wall, a rollable OLED TV from LG and a hint at all the voice activated products coming our way. Not everything makes it to the shop floor immediately (and sometimes, not at all) but what do the tech tea leaves say might be coming to CES 2019. Let's take a look.

Micro LED

TVs always make up a large part of what's on display and it's safe to assume that all the major players will be showing off examples of their upcoming ranges. Will Samsung bring any more MicroLED developments to the table since it's a cornerstone of their plans to take on OLED? Perhaps not, as they have just announced QLED performance improvements to their Frame and Serif TV ranges of up-market, decor based TVs.

Hi-Fi

CES is not usually replete with Hi-Fi properties, but Cambridge Audio could be announcing their first turntable built fully in-house, the Alva TT. Monitor Audio, the UK based speaker manufacturers have dropped social media hints at a premium speaker with a touch-screen interface.

Phones

Though no doubt some are holding some announcements back for the Mobile World Congress in a few months’ time, CES 2019 is still an opportunity for companies to let out a few sneak peeks of their upcoming phone ranges and developments to get the PR machine rolling. With that in mind, there could well be a surge in foldable phones on show.

2019 looks to be the year that major phone makers start to put 5G capabilities into all their devices, not just top end models. Let’s hold our breath and look forward to the arrival of the CES.
