Why the 3 star rating?
Being new to solar and Zendure, I assumed that by purchasing a SuperBase M and a Zendure 200W solar panel that I would have everything needed in order to connect the two together and charge up the unit, however, this was not the case. You can imagine my disappointment when I opened the solar panel box, laid out the panels in the sun, unzipped the bag on the panel to reveal the charge cables, pulled my Super Base M over to the panel, only to find that I did not have the cable needed to directly connect the solar panel to the SuperBase M. Naturally I went to the Zendure website to find instructions on how to connect the solar panel to see if there was something I was missing or if a cable is missing, etc. FYI, all the user manual says is to basically plug in the panel. It doesn’t mention which port to plug into on the SuperBase M or what kind of cable is needed. There are no instructional videos on how to connect the solar panel on the website! I then started searching the Zendure website for a cable that could be purchased to connect the two together and to my amazement…..they simply offer nothing. How is this possible that you leave your customers in the dark on how to get the two connected? Not even a disclaimer of “separate cable needed” with a mention of the type of cable, a picture, or a link to where it can be purchased?
This then had me scouring the web about 1 hour to figure out the exact cable needed to be compatible with the charging port on the SuperBase M. They need to add to the “Accessories” web page either a cable you can purchase directly through Zendure or a link to an alternate website where the correct compatible cable can be purchased. Also, an instructional video on the hookup for the solar panel would be nice as well.
I am also now learning that a 200W panel doesn’t actually give you 200W. For me it’s charging at 130W in complete unobstructed direct sunlight here in Florida and leaves me feeling a bit misled. I think you should have full disclosure with your customers and tell them up front what to expect (as with all panels) which is about 25-35% less than 200W even in perfect sunlight without obstruction due to a number of factors. I had to do this research on my own as well.
I am looking forward to using the product for it many purposes and expect it will perform well.
I love ZENDURE products, I am a huge fan of SuperTank, and I am glad that Zendure could take the challenge of the 2000Wh power station. I ordered my first power station on the first day it was available on Pre-sale(also the 200W solar panel, dustproof bag, and EV-AC adapter). Waiting for my package!
