Apple will announce its new iPhone on September 12, with only several days away, everything rumored will be uncovered. Before its release, there are a lot of speculations on what the three models will be named; now it seems to be clear that its 5.8 inch flagship phone will be called iPhone XS and it is said that the 6.5inch iPhone will be named iPhone XS Max, replacing the “Plus” convention. However, name is not that important for most of people, instead, people concern about what’s new that Apple can finally bring to us.

Beyond doubt, there will be update and upgrade on specs and even some surprising new functions on the new phone just as the previous year Apple does, but will the new iPhone replace its never-changed-ever 5W adapter with an 18 watt USB-C charger in this year? Let’s look closer about all the rumors about Apple’s 18-Watt USB-C charger.

The 18W USB-C charger is reported to be exclusive to new iPhone model only

Japanese Mac news bog Macotakara reports that the 18W USB-C charger will come bundled with the new iPhone models this year, and it won’t be sold separately due to supply constraints.

If this is true, consumers are to be more delighted to purchasing the upcoming iPhone, I believe. Although, Apple has designed its recent released iPhones to support fast charging, while the original 5W power adapter shipping with them makes it less possible for consumers to enjoy the advancement unless they spend extra money on a separate charger with higher wattage and even a USB-C to lightning cable, if they choose original Apple power adapters. Thus, if the 18W power adapter can be included in the new models in 2018, it will be a breakthrough in its charger history, and could be the end of complaints about its 5W charger.

However, the exclusiveness to the new iPhones means that it won’t be supplied separately as a result that you can’t buy it for your iPhone 8 / Plus or X. If buying an extra charger to enjoy a fast charging is your case, then here comes a good recommendation:

Zendure 45W 4-Port USB-C PD Wall Charger ($49.95)

This newest 45W charger from Zendure is successful is proved to be reliable in quality and amazing in innovation. It includes a 30W USB-C port with Power Delivery and 3 standard USB-A ports, which means you can charge your iPhone 8/Plus/X from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes, and charge your MacBook through the USB-C port at high speed up to 30W, without buying another USB-C to lightning cable.

Besides that, it is thoughtfully designed with foldable US plug with EU/UK adapters and wide-band input voltage (110V-240V) in a compact body, so it is so convenient to bring it whenever and wherever you are traveling.

Compared to the Apple power adapters, it comes with a more reasonable price while it works as well as Apple’s power adapters. With built-in overheating, overcharging and short-circuit protection and smart fast-charging technology, it gives your devices all-round protection while charging.

It seems to be a little away from what we are talking. Will iPhone XS come with an 18W USB-C charger in this fall? The report from Macotakara appears to be reliable, but it can only be confirmed when it is released on the Apple’s big event this year at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.
