No complex permits needed, SolarFlow Kit makes it easy for you to step into the new era of solar energy.

How does SolarFlow Kit work?

  • DAYTIME
  • NIGHTTIME
During the day, the electricity generated by solar panels flows through Hub 2000. A portion of this power is converted into alternating current (AC) by a microinverter to power your home appliances. The surplus energy is stored in batteries for use at night, saving on energy costs.
Hub 2000 can handle up to 1800 watts of solar power, with the microinverter outputting a maximum of 900W. In smart mode, the SolarFlow system precisely matches your home's electricity needs, maximizing the use of your plug-and-play solar system.
At night, the excess energy stored in the batteries can power a range of high and low-power household appliances in conjunction with the grid, including air conditioners, refrigerators, Wi-Fi routers, laptops, lights, and more.

Does installing the SolarFlow Kit require permission from the utility company?

The SolarFlow Kit is designed for first-time solar users or those who have not previously installed solar. No solar permit is required.
For traditional grid-tied solar systems, utility company interconnection permits are needed to grant you the status of feeding power back to the grid.
The SolarFlow Kit's smart management system ensures that the photovoltaic energy you produce is fully used by your home, without feeding back to the grid.
Therefore, it can be installed like any household appliance.

How much electrical experience or knowledge is needed to install the SolarFlow Kit?

Our system is designed to be plug-and-play, easy to install for anyone regardless of skill level. It should be noted that for the smart meter, it is recommended to have an electrician install it.

Can I install the solar panels myself?

Yes, you can install the solar panels on the ground by yourself, which may require purchasing additional ground mounts. If you want to install the solar panels on the roof, it is recommended to find a professional installer.

How do I connect the solar panels to the SolarFlow Kit?

The Hub 2000 has 2 MPPT inputs, each capable of connecting two 300-500W solar panels. When connecting multiple panels to each input, make sure to parallel them. Specific connection methods can be found in the manual or video.

I already have a grid-tied traditional solar system. Can I use the SolarFlow Kit to expand my setup?

Yes. Because the SolarFlow Kit is low-cost and easy to install, many customers like to combine it with their existing systems. Your existing system and SolarFlow Kit can run simultaneously without interference.

Can I install two SolarFlow Kits? When would I need two SolarFlow Kits?

Yes, if you want to save more on electricity costs and meet greater power demands, you can purchase two SolarFlow Kits.

What happens when the power goes out? Does solar power back feed to the grid?

No. Our microinverters are certified to the UL1741 standard and have an anti-islanding standard function. Once the power fails, the microinverters will stop generating power.

Is the microinverter EZ1-LV safe?

Sure it is, the microinverter EZ1-LV has the following certifications: UL1741; CSA C22.2 No.107.1-16; FCC Part 15B; IEC 62109-1; IEEE 1547; UL 1741SA; SRD-V2.0; NEC2014 & NEC2017 & NEC2020 Section 690.11 DC Arc-Fault Circuit Protection NEC2014 & NEC2017 & NEC2020 Section 690.12 Rapid Shutdown of PV Systems on Buildings.

How do I install the smart meter CT to use with the SolarFlow Kit?

Ensure that the socket circuit where the microinverter is connected and the sensor of the smart meter CT are on the same phase.
For example: when the SolarFlow Kit is connected to Circuit 1 on phase L1, it is recommended to clip the sensor on the L1 main line when installing the smart meter CT, and the power supply line of the meter should also be connected to the L1 phase line to reduce errors.
In the App, go to the product page of Hub 2000, select Smart CT mode, and then bind the Hub2000 with the corresponding sensor clip on the L1 main line. For more details, refer to the smart meter CT manual.

In smart mode, how is the power generated distributed to the home network and AB2000S battery?

Smart Mode: The smart CT monitors the line load in real-time through current transformers, detects current changes, and sends data to the energy storage system, ensuring that the output power of the microinverter is always less than the load of the bound line. A set of Hub2000 can only bind to one line.
When the home electricity demand equals the photovoltaic generation, the photovoltaic power is fully supplied to the home.
When the home electricity demand is less than the photovoltaic generation, the photovoltaic power is first supplied to the home, and the excess power is used to charge the battery. If the battery is full, the system enters bypass mode, and all photovoltaic power is output to the grid through the microinverter. If the bypass mode is disabled, Hub 2000 will reduce the photovoltaic input power to match the line load.
When the home electricity demand is greater than the photovoltaic generation, the photovoltaic power first meets the home electricity, and the insufficient part is supplemented by battery discharge.
Smart Socket Mode: The system dynamically adjusts the microinverter output based on the user-set base power consumption and the load power detected by the smart socket.
For example, if the user sets a base power consumption of 100W and the socket detects a washing machine power of 500W, the system automatically adjusts the microinverter output to 600W.

How do I know my daytime electricity usage?

It is recommended to store as much electricity as possible in the battery during the day, in addition to basic power consumption:
Calculate the consumption of devices that run continuously during the day or 24 hours, such as refrigerators, routers, and backup devices.
Before going to bed, record the current meter reading and time at the meter box. After waking up, immediately note the meter reading and time.
You can calculate the basic load based on consumption and elapsed time. You can use a measurement socket between the plug-in socket and the electrical device.
To calculate the basic load, collect the power consumption of all devices that run continuously (including standby) and add these values together.

How should solar panels be stored?

Solar panels should be installed as soon as possible to avoid exposure to rain or humid environments, with humidity less than 85%RH and temperature range -40°C to +50°C.
The storage location should be ventilated, waterproof, dry, with a flat ground, and covered with waterproof materials, with a slope of less than 4°.
When stored on the project site, choose a hard or elevated flat ground to avoid soft ground causing collapse or tipping.

Should solar panels be installed horizontally or vertically?

Solar panels can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
To reduce the impact of shading, it is recommended to choose the right bracket according to the installation method:
use a horizontal bracket for vertical installation and a vertical bracket for horizontal installation.
In addition, it is recommended to prioritize the installation method with the longer side facing down.

How to choose the installation angle of solar panels?

Solar panels should be installed in the same direction and angle to avoid current and voltage mismatches that reduce power output. It is recommended to have an angle of at least 10° to facilitate rain to wash away dust. For the best output, it is recommended to consult local professionals.

How should solar panels be mounted on the bracket?

Solar panels have 4 mounting holes with a diameter of 9mm and a length of 14mm on the back. These holes can be used to secure the solar modules to the support track with bolts. Alternatively, use clips with M8 fixing bolts. It is recommended to use aluminum alloy clips with a length of ≥60mm and thickness of ≥4mm.

Where should the AB2000S battery be installed?

Place the battery indoors in a frost-free and safe location, avoiding direct sunlight. Recommended places include balconies, terraces, attics, tool rooms, basements, garages, central heating rooms, or technical rooms. Do not place batteries in escape routes or areas that need to remain unobstructed.
