Zendure today announced the crowdfunding campaign for their latest product, an all-in-one universal travel adapter called Passport, the ultimate charging solution for travelers around the world. They are offering free international shipping.

The biggest difference between Passport and other international travel adapters already on the market is the patent-pending auto-resetting fuse. Traditional travel adapters use old-fashioned replaceable fuses to prevent an overload, which leads to quite a number of issues. The fuses are easily blown, lost or broken, and they are hard to find when you need to buy one. Passport’s use of auto-resetting technology allows the device to recover from an overload on its own within just one minute, making it electronically unbreakable, and the most resilient travel adapter ever.

“Ditching the traditional fuse might sound like a small thing, but it has been a priority for us since starting this project two years ago,” said Zendure CEO Bryan Liu. “With Passport, a potential blown fuse is one less thing to worry about when you’re traveling. Or, if you have five devices plugged into it, five less things to worry about. The travel adapter industry is a very traditional product category that has seen no innovation in years, and I’m happy that we are finally disrupting this industry with something unique.”

“Auto-resetting fuses are commonly seen in the aerospace industry, but it’s never been applied to travel adapters before due to cost and size.” said Zendure CTO Roger Wu. “It took us a long time and hundreds of experiments to finally be able to customize the perfect auto-resetting fuse at the right cost and size for our product.”

In addition to the auto-resetting fuse, Passport’s built-in power connectors, which work in over 150 countries worldwide, can be easily extended or retracted with just one hand using the unique press-and-slide controls on the side. With ordinary travel adapters, you’d have to press a separate release button with one hand, and then move the sliders with another, which is quite cumbersome.

Passport also sports a universal AC output delivering up to 600-1500W of power (depending on the voltage) and four USB ports with a total output of 25W to power a number of devices, while most travel adapters on the market only offer two USB ports with a much lower output.

In keeping with Zendure’s signature textured designs, the new Passport’s relatively compact frame boasts rounded ridges that neatly line up with other elements of the product. Zendure designed Passport with the help of Y Studios, a famous award-winning design house based in San Francisco, California.

Zendure made its debut four years ago on Kickstarter, so it’s not too surprising that they have returned to their roots for their latest product. The crowdfunding campaign is currently live with a goal of at least $30,000 USD, and Zendure is offering discounts to a limited number of initial backers.
